A little bit about me.

I am a PACFA registered Clinical Counsellor, however have a varied professional history; my earlier career was in advertising and marketing working in Australia and Europe.

Starting out in the creative department, my strong organisational skills saw me move into roles managing other creatives, eventually as a creative services manager. This role is often called traffic, however, in this reactionary digital age it’s more like triage. During this time, I retrained as a graphic designer, which allowed me to work part-time when I had children.

After realising art and design are more of a hobby than a passion, I retrained as a counsellor.

My counselling experience is in large and small organisations, working onsite and remotely. These include not-for-profit, NSW Government, corporate mental health (EAP), and private practice. I have worked in complex mental health, family and domestic violence, homelessness, alcohol and other drugs, behavioural addictions and on support lines. Most recently I worked at SANE Australia, assisting those struggling against complex mental health presentations, their family and carers. These have all been rewarding experiences, where I have felt I made a positive difference to people’s lives.

While organisation is a strong point of mine it is balanced with open-mindedness, flexibility, creativity, and a healthy sense of humour. I am an advocate for social justice and have a passion for investigating the pervasive influence of modern power. The relational dynamic created in counselling inspires me and fulfils a hope that I will make the world a better place from my having lived.
